No one likes a slow computer. Everyone wants their computers to run fast or in fact very fast! But is that possible? Yes it is possible to make your computer run fast. But how to make our computer run fast? Lets see a few steps using which your computer will run fast!
1.) Make Sure Your Computer Is Virus Free!
A computer that has many viruses, adware, malware, spyware, runs very slowly. So make sure your computer is free of them! Use a reliable anti virus software to clean your computer and keep viruses out of your computer!
2.) Remove Startup Programs / Items..
If you have a lot of programs like download managers, computer cleaners, etc. that start when you turn on your computer, your computer CANNOT run fast! So configure your computer to start only some very important programs while starting up.
3.) Clean Up Your Computer Regularly…
I personally feel cleaning your PC will help it run at least 10 times faster! I use a software called cCleaner for my computer which cleans all the junk files in my computer. It clears Firefox, Internet Explorer cache, it removes error logs, it helps removing recent documents history, etc. It’s very fast and removes every bit of junk from your computer! Use cCleaner for cleaning your computer and enjoy a fast computer!
4.) Use Small Sized Themes With NO / LESS Visual Effects For Your Computer…
Don’t use themes which are very big and contain a lot of effects. They make the computer look good, but at the cost of it’s speed! These themes make it slow! Use such themes only if your computer is very nicely configured one (Has good RAM, Graphic Cards, Etc.)
5.) Uninstall Useless Programs From Your Computer…
Don’t install each and every program in your computer. Suppose if you installed it some months ago when you needed it, and no longer use it or use it once in a blue moon, uninstall it! Why let it take useful space of your hard drive? Just uninstall it. You can install it next time when you need to run it.
6.) Keep Your Desktop Clean
Always keep your desktop clean. Don’t keep high sized files on your desktop. I recommend keeping your desktop clean. Only keep shortcuts to programs or files on desktop if necessary.
7.) Use Good Hardware
If you have a computer with 256 MB RAM or less and follow the above tips you won’t see much difference between your older speed and newer one. The difference will be very low. So upgrade your computer. I recommend using at least 1 GB RAM and a good graphic card. It will enhance the computer looks and speed too!

Wow! Thanks for these tips. My computer has been slow forever. I don’t even know half of the programs installed in it. But then, I’m afraid that I might uninstall some important component. I will try and use cCleaner. And yes to removing some start-up programs. I only have a few important components that run at start up. I just run programs as I need them. This immensely shortened my start-up time.
